THE MOST FEROCIOUS CRITIC OF PUTIN
A lawyer by profession Alexei Navalny was one of the most profound opposition figures active in Russia and was the greatest critic of Vladimir Putin.
As a result, he was among the most targeted individuals in Russia with cases of poisoning and repeated jailing being few among them.
When protests against Putin flared in 2011, Alexei was arrested as he was a savage opposition who dared to point out the corruption the then government commenced.
Alexei Navalny once said the country is ruled by "crooks and thieves."
Young Alexi Navalny's primary focus was on the corruption and transparency concerns he had been documenting on his Live Journal blog for many years. This helped to establish him as a sort of opposition protest leader.
"Russia without Putin", was not just merely words but a dream that the opposition leader Alexie Navalny always dreamt of.
WHAT MADE NAVALNY A FOE TO RUSSIAN PRESIDENT PUTIN?
Alexei Navalny was involved in investigations and he scrounged information that uncovered corruption worth billions of dollars and he even tried to expose Putin's government.
Navalny dared to publicly criticize Putin and his officials by boldly declaring, "These are the people who are trying to steal my country".
He is probably the person that Putin fears the most because his message combines the interests of the lower class, liberals, and other groups.
HOW NAVALNY WAS TARGETED BY KREMLIN
Navalny's poisoning with chemicals in 2020 marked the starting point of a slow and torturous execution. But this terrifying experience did not prevent his return to Russia in January 2021. For him, the importance of his political movement outweighed his own health.
A LEGACY THAT HE LEFT
Navalny's story teaches us that no matter how tough the journey, speaking up for what's right is always worth it.
He showed us that even in the face of danger and opposition, staying true to your beliefs is the most powerful thing you can do.
The intensity of impact doesn't matter when it is done to bring a positive change, what matters is.... to voice that positive change.
Navalny's courage reminds us that the most powerful thing a person can do is to stand against the ordeals and to stay true to your belief in making a change.
